ADESA operates 61 whole car auctions across North America, providing institutional customers and dealers a whole car auction solution. The dealers who purchase vehicles at ADESA auctions are licensed franchises and independent wholesale dealers. Adesa is held by The KAR Holdings, Inc.
ADESA’s Management Operations System (MOS) is the primary system for recording and reporting on key performance indicators by Auction and department to provide performance insight. MOS metrics are used by various audiences to assist in the overall management of multiple reporting levels including department, auction, region and company. Key performance metrics include utilization, efficiency, productivity and lost time. MOS requires a non-scalable, time-consuming and error-prone process of capturing the desired information, ensuring that the information is correct and accurate, and then providing the tools required to analyze the information in a structured and unstructured manner.
Perficient was engaged to provide enhancements to the MOS reporting system.
The new MOS platform leveraged ADESA’s existing technologies – WebSphere Portal 6.1 architecture, Oracle Database, Jasper Reporting Services Platform, and existing Active Directory security – to create a scalable solution for ADESA. The solution will be rolled out to all of ADESA’s auction sites. Leveraging ADESA’s active directory, Perficient designed and built the solution to support multiple levels of security and report drill-downs for the solution. Dashboards were created utilizing Jasper Reporting Services and Portal 6.1. These dashboards allow management to quickly view how auctions and departments are performing.
