Portal Strategy

Portal technology can offer great return on investment when approached correctly. Gartner calls portal the "Swiss Army Knife" of technology. Their strength and agility provides the ability to leverage this technology for a number of uses. However, just like any multi-use tool, care should be taken in planning and implementing it. Failure to take the broad view can result in failed projects. Defining your portal strategy and achieving buy-in from across the board will increase the possibilities of success. This offering will look at ALL aspects of a portal implementation from the technology, vision, and the roles and responsibilities.

Similar to the Portal Roadmap but much more in depth, this two to three month engagement walks through all aspects of your enterprise portal and defines the standards and approach for each aspect of your portal project. We don’t just focus on technology but also on governance, release management, testing, help desk and the many other pieces of an enterprise portal.

Development and Implementation

The majority of our work at Perficient involves full lifecycle development and implementation of portals, team spaces, wikis, blogs, social sites, and more. We use our Enable Methodology to iteratively develop and launch your site(s). As with other offerings, we take a holistic approach to these projects and involve our Experience Design team to quickly create site that bring value regardless of the type of site.
