Perficient Helps Providers Evolve Health IT Strategies to Better Engage Patients, Lower Costs

Perficient Oracle healthcare experts to discuss value of patient portals and Big Data in improving patient care and lowering operational costs at Oracle OpenWorld 2013

SAINT LOUIS (Sept. 12, 2013) Perficient, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRFT), a leading information technology consulting firm serving Global 2000 and other large enterprise customers throughout North America, today announced its healthcare technology experts will present on Oracle technology solutions designed to enhance patient engagement and lower cost of care at Oracle OpenWorld 2013. Oracle OpenWorld will be held Sept. 22-26 in San Francisco, and is the world’s largest information technology event for Oracle technology providers and customers.

There is a fundamental shift in the healthcare industry from a focus on fixing sickness to a focus on preventive health and wellness. Providers are challenged with adapting their culture and their resources to better engage patients in their care while at the same time lowering overall costs. Technology plays a strategic role in addressing healthcare industry shifts and provides the opportunity for innovation and success.

“Technology for technology’s sake does not improve outcomes. There has to be a willingness by providers and patients to change the current status quo and become more proactive in the giving and receiving of care,” said Lesli Adams, Perficient director of Oracle Healthcare business intelligence. “As an Oracle Platinum Partner, Perficient is skilled in the entire Oracle Healthcare stack. Our team is uniquely positioned to help our clients develop and implement technology solutions, including patient portals and business intelligence and analytics solutions, to improve quality of care, mitigate costs, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide lasting business results. In doing so, providers can better engage patients in their care and will experience improved operational efficiency. It’s a win-win.”

During OpenWorld, Adams and Dr. Marcie Stoshak-Chavez, Perficient director of healthcare strategic advisory services, will present “Patient Portals, Fulfilling the Patient-Centered Medical Home” on Monday, Sept. 23. In their session, they will discuss the synergy between the patient portal and disease registries, and the power of patient-centered medical homes in engaging patients with medical care when and where they need it most.

In addition, Adams also will co-present with Jim McDowell, Perficient senior director of Oracle healthcare strategy, during the session, “Game-Changing Uses of Big Data in Healthcare,” which will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Adams and McDowell will discuss how Oracle is developing new relationships with key organizations participating in clinical trials, and conducting research and development that will monitor medication adherence and patient compliance, and deliver continuous real-time information for clinical decision-making to optimize drug delivery and enhance the speed of drug trial completion.
