Challenge

With businesses units operating across the globe, Bunge wanted a a platform that would improve employee productivity by facilitating cross-company communication, collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Solution

Perficient employed WebSphere Portal to create each Bunge business unit and numerous worldwide interest groups a portal to distribute news and share information with their employees. Collaboration tools such as discussion forums, blogs, and group calendars were also created. Each site was customized with its own look and presented in the user’s native language. Bunge chose WSP because it allowed for the rapid construction of separate portals that could be housed in a central infrastructure to reduce implementation and operating costs. In addition, the solution allowed for the sharing of functionality across portals, so while each portal is customized for a specific business unit, employees in one business unit portal can access tools and information available to employees in another.
