Portal: Centene
Challenge
The cost of operating and maintaining these websites
had steadily increased, as had the cost of supporting new health
plans due to the work in building sites and the lack of business
functionality such as content management. As these costs increased,
Centene began looking for a better way to scale existing health
plans and roll out new ones.
Solution
Perficient built a portal infrastructure based on
IBM WebSphere Portal Server to centrally support all of Centene's
existing health plans with, consistent and improved functionality.
The Centene business architecture is based on the virtual portal
concept, in which a single portal installation can support multiple
independent portals. Centralized content management is supported
by IBM Workplace Web Content Management, making it easy for each
health plan to update its own website information.
