SOA: The Finish Line
Challenge
To support its growing business and better react
to customer needs, The Finish Line (TFL) needed a more flexible
infrastructure to replace a combination of third-party point-of-sale
and back-office systems used to manage its inventory. The driving
requirements were to make the ordering process seamless for the
customer and to provide near-real-time updates to inventory so that
accurate order fulfillment decisions could be made.
Solution
Perficient created a messaging infrastructure that
allows TFL's third-party systems to integrate with pre-existing
back office systems through standard methods such as SOAP over HTTP
as well as via MQ. The third-party POS system was enhanced to support
SOAP messaging.
