Challenge

GSK’s Oncology unit was holding multiple clinical trials at hundreds of primary investigator (PI) sites around the world while dealing with the multitude of manual tasks associated with managing the recruitment, start-up and on-going administration of these sites. With the pressure to shorten their time to market and reduce costs in drug development, GSK needed a faster, easier and less error-prone way to communicate and exchange information ranging from basic contact information to protocol descriptions to key legal documents.

Solution

Perficient’s Clinical Trial Site Management Portal provided a web-based solution accessible by GSK employees as well as the employees at over 300 PI sites. GSK clinical trial operations personnel were able to view all information pertaining to the PI sites they were managing and post key protocol and administrative information that formerly were mailed. Meanwhile, the PI sites were able to access GSK contact information, post and read FAQs related to the protocols in which they were participating and access key documents involved in site start-up and administration.
