EDI: Social Security Administration
Challenge
SSA was processing three billion pieces of paper
per year in order to process disability claims. The time required
to process each claim was measured in months instead of days. Previous
attempts to create a paperless, automated environment failed.
Solution
Perficient helped the agency create a common vision
and an incremental roadmap focused on delivering value as close
to the end customer and as quickly as possible. Perficient implemented
centralized workflow/automation capabilities along with an integrated,
secure web portal where documents are uploaded, routed, converted
and indexed for claims processing. The project required compliance
with strict security and regulatory guidelines and working directly
with a multitude of users and stakeholders across the United States.
