Mohawk Industries is the world’s leading producer and distributor of residential and commercial flooring materials. Our client, Mohawk Group, is the commercial flooring subbrand of Mohawk Industries serving primarily designers, architects, and builders.

THE WEBSITE WAS SHOWING WEAR

Mohawk Group was operating an outdated website that had limited functionality and minimal features. Products were represented with only static images, so designers had to rely on physical sample swatches to showcase product options to customers. With no way to visualize how the complete installation would look, customers found it difficult to make a confident, informed decision.

Additionally, Mohawk Group was struggling with brand recognition of its own sub-brand, Durkan, the custom carpet hospitality division of Mohawk Group. Durkan.com was functioning as its own website, disconnecting the two brands and increasing the cost of web maintenance and management.

Refinishing the Site in Style

We worked with Mohawk to conduct in-depth user research and then used Sitecore to design a highly complex, data-driven site that solves the most critical user needs.

One of the site’s most unique features is an advanced product visualization tool. Users are able to view products and select from more than 15 different room types, five installation patterns, and an adjustable light setting to render a room and showcase what a complete installation will look like.

As users move through the site they’re able to download, save, and share each custom room rendering, making it easier to showcase product selections to teammates and clients.

We also integrated the Durkan brand into the Mohawk Group website, helping to streamline brand recognition while reducing the costs of managing two separate websites.

Mohawk Group now has one website that allows customers to visually customize complete flooring installments, helping to increase consumer confidence throughout the buying process.

By integrating the Durkan brand into the Mohawk Group website, Mohawk Group has elevated its own brand by associating itself with the known quality and customization of the Durkan product line.

Refreshing the web environment to more completely reflect the Mohawk Group brand has empowered the company to showcase its design-focused product line, resulting in a higher-quality influence at every decision point.
