SAINT LOUIS (Feb. 27, 2018) – In an effort to better maintain healthcare costs and continuously enhance patient outcomes, healthcare providers are increasingly turning to data and analytics to improve quality of care. Perficient, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRFT) (“Perficient”), a leading digital transformation consulting firm serving Global 2000® and other large enterprise customers throughout North America, today announced it has launched an enterprise data warehouse on the cloud for its client BJC HealthCare (“BJC”). This implementation allows BJC, one of the largest non-profit healthcare providers in the United States, additional capability to leverage a unified, cloud-based data solution to improve patient care, increase operational effectiveness and reduce costs.

Like most healthcare organizations, BJC is challenged with managing ever-increasing volumes of data across multiple systems and technologies, administering consistent data sources, and accessing required data quickly to comply with regulatory reporting requirements. The health system seeks to consolidate multiple clinical repositories, implement an integrated technology platform, and reduce infrastructure costs.

“BJC is committed to improving the health and well-being of the people and communities it serves. It recognizes a need for additional consolidation, integration and modernization of its data and analytics systems,” said Tom Lennon, director, Healthcare Analytics, Perficient. “Drawing on our extensive healthcare industry and data and analytics expertise, we’ve assisted BJC on their journey to modernize their legacy data environment, migrating these data systems to a state-of-the-art, cloud-based data platform. This platform creates a single version of truth and sets the stage for future innovations.”

Perficient has established a healthcare-specific blueprint for data warehousing and analytics that incorporates a robust set of data models coupled with industry-specific terms, ultimately decreasing time to implementation. This model serves BJC’s complex systems involving its patient facilities and physician practices and is central to the analytics used to improve care delivery and business function.

“To successfully move an entire enterprise data warehouse on the cloud we leveraged our proprietary Health Analytics Gateway, which provides the framework necessary to accelerate integration from multiple data sources, and analyze data more efficiently,” said Matt Castle, vice president, Health Sciences, Perficient. “This implementation will establish a solid technical foundation for a unified enterprise analytics system, which provides key insights into business intelligence.”

“By leveraging the cloud in this manner, BJC is well positioned to reduce hardware and server costs, increase scalability and flexibility and improve speed to deployment,” continued Lennon. “Not to mention, with this foundation in place, they can better leverage the data to conduct innovative research and state-of-the-art clinical initiatives that could advance healthcare outcomes. And, the best is yet to come.”
