Managing a Successful Migration to Microsoft Teams

What if... we could support a remote and global workforce’s transition to a new collaboration platform?

Our client is a global investment firm with deep industry expertise that deploys private capital across three business segments: Global Private Equity, Global Credit, and Investment Solutions.

An Increasingly Remote Global Workforce Needed Better Collaboration Tools

Our client relied on multiple communication and collaboration systems that did not work together and provided little consistency across the organization. The company chose to implement cloud-based Microsoft Teams as its new company-wide collaboration technology, focusing on its flexibility and ease of customization to meet the needs of individual groups across the globe.

Our organizational change management (OCM) team was asked to prepare the client to facilitate and ensure a successful transition.

A Transition to Streamline Efficiencies

Our OCM experts built and implemented a strategic rollout approach to ensure that communications and training prepared end users to successfully adapt to the changes.

Moving to the cloud meant that our client’s workforce would be accessing information and collaborating within Microsoft Teams – a big change from past ways of working.

To facilitate this, we gathered and analyzed information on existing processes and procedures and then created flexible and compatible workspace interface templates for smooth collaboration across departments.

Simplified Collaboration for a Global Workforce

We led a multi-stage Microsoft Teams implementation that allowed end users to fully embrace the new technology and fostered innovative thinking to create efficiencies as new tools rolled out.

As adoption increases and requests for collaborative workspaces increase, our client can revise the templates we built in order to meet the needs of a specific group, saving time and resources.

Our client’s ongoing business investments and acquisitions require supporting a responsive, adaptable team with immediate access to the information and tools they need to react and respond.

Teams, and the custom interface workspaces, increased the client’s ability to maneuver quickly and efficiently through acquisition processes as a more-informed and collaborative team.

Custom workspaces are an often-overlooked component of a Microsoft Teams implementation. Many feel this can be tabled for later, but we recognize the value of laying the foundation for success from the beginning, which reduces duplicate work and instills confidence in the new tools.
