Perficient to Lead HIMSS Roundtable on Reaching Healthcare Consumers via Social Media

ST. LOUIS (April 6, 2015)Perficient, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRFT) (“Perficient”), a leading information technology and management consulting firm serving Global 2000 and other large enterprise customers throughout North America, today announced that it will lead a roundtable discussion at the 2015 HIMSS Annual Conference and Exhibition, April 12-16 at the McCormick Place convention center in Chicago.

The roundtable discussion will bring industry thought leaders together to discuss how healthcare organizations can leverage social media to attract unknown consumers, and improve patient and clinician interaction and overall communication within the clinical setting.

“HIMSS is recognized for its quality and relevant programming. At HIMSS15, hundreds of speakers will share their expertise during our pre-conference and conference educational sessions,” said JoAnn W. Klinedinst, Vice President of Professional Development for HIMSS.

“By its nature, healthcare is social. Social media breaks down barriers and encourages a two-way dialogue between healthcare providers and patients, and between personnel within clinical settings,” said Matt Castle, General Manager, Health Sciences, at Perficient. “We will demonstrate the power of social media by taking the roundtable discussion to Twitter so those that aren’t attending HIMSS can join the conversation using #hcsmIRL."

As a result of the evolution of healthcare consumerism, Perficient is experiencing meaningful growth in its healthcare practice, delivering Connected Health solutions to clients including DaVita, Blue Shield of California, Catholic Health Initiatives, Healthcare Corporation of America, and Kaiser Permanente. Perficient’s Connected Health solutions engage patients, members, providers and the health community outside the traditional care setting.

“At Perficient, we believe Connected Health can address in-treatment compliances, workflow management and chronic-disease management,” said Melody Smith Jones, Manager, Connected Health, at Perficient, and a scheduled speaker at the roundtable. “We have seen firsthand how Connected Health can transform healthcare delivery.”

The core Connected Health solutions provided by Perficient include digital strategy, web content management, and patient, member and enterprise portals. Additionally, Perficient offers user experience and interactive design, mobile and telehealth technologies, social media and enterprise social, and market intelligence.

“Our Patient 360 and Member 360 offerings were inspired by the retail industry’s consumer engagement playbook,” Smith Jones said. “We leverage retail strategies and tactics and apply them thoughtfully to the healthcare setting.”

The HIMSS conference and exhibition is one of the largest health IT gatherings, with more than 300 peer-reviewed education sessions. More than 38,000 healthcare industry professionals will attend to learn about and discuss the newest technologies, trends and solutions in health IT.

HIMSS (Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society) is a global nonprofit organization focused on better health through technology.
