Perficient to Provide Insights on Lync Server 2013 Implementations at Lync Conference 2014

Microsoft’s 2013 U.S. Partner of the Year Perficient to showcase best practices and recommendations for designing, deploying and integrating Microsoft Lync for maximum business impact

SAINT LOUIS (Feb. 6, 2014) Perficient, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRFT), a leading information technology consulting firm serving Global 2000 and other large enterprise customers throughout North America, today announced it will serve as the evening event sponsor and showcase its expertise at the Microsoft Lync Conference. The Lync Conference will be held Feb. 18 – 20 in Las Vegas, and is dedicated to communications professionals looking to learn and network with the entire Lync community.

Microsoft Lync Server 2013 is a full-service unified communications platform that provides standard features such as instant messaging and presence, plus on-premises conferencing, content sharing, video, and telephony or PBX functionality. As one of only 15 U.S.-based Premier Lync Support Partners, Perficient partners with clients to implement Lync technologies that integrate with their current applications and enhance professional communications.

“Microsoft Lync is one of the leading unified communications platforms in the marketplace today,” said Matt McGillen, director of Microsoft infrastructure for Perficient’s Microsoft national business practice. “Companies are challenged with improving collaboration and communications throughout their organizations, and Lync provides a seamless, connected and user-friendly experience that addresses these needs. But CIOs and executives need to understand that the key to a successful Lync implementation is taking the appropriate time planning the solution design before deploying the software application. Perficient has helped many enterprises properly plan and deploy Lync Server 2013, helping clients reduce costs, improve productivity and drive collaborative business performance.”

Recently, Perficient engaged with one of America’s largest privately-held companies to design a Lync implementation strategy. The company has more than 140,000 employees worldwide and serves customers across a variety of market segments. The company had more than 50 vendors providing collaboration services including voice, email and fax, and needed to consolidate its internal collaboration offerings. They chose to maintain their Microsoft unified communications platform and integrate their other on-premises voice technology investments.  Perficient partnered with them to develop a strategy that included a business case for change, and roadmap for architecture integration, rollout and employee training. Together, the organizations were able to effectively deploy Microsoft Lync, which allowed them to connect their entire global employee workforce, delivering cost reductions and seamless collaboration services to their stakeholders.

Perficient experts will be on hand during the Lync Conference in Booth #223 to discuss how the company helps clients address communications needs through the implementation of Lync technologies designed to unite voice, IM, audio, video and web-conferencing into a richer, more simplified experience. As one of only a handful of Microsoft partners with multiple Microsoft Certified Masters in Lync, Perficient will share best practices and recommendations for getting the most out of Lync.

“Lync offers the right capabilities to truly engage and unite a global workforce,” continued McGillen. “However, as we work with enterprise clients to design the proper unified communications strategy, we’re seeing these organizations struggle with how to make Lync work with their existing investments in legacy telephony solutions. Our goal at the Lync Conference is to share our experiences in helping customers – some of the largest enterprises in North America – address these integration challenges and realize the true benefits of a totally collaborative solution.”
