Perficient to Showcase Healthcare Data Integration and Analytics Solutions at HIMSS 2018

The leading healthcare consulting firm explores how data and analytics are key to innovation, population health management, and improved patient care

SAINT LOUIS (March 2, 2018) – Today’s healthcare organizations continually seek ways to make more informed, better clinical and business decisions on how to reduce costs and improve patient care. Increasingly, data integration and analytics is becoming the key to successful implementations, innovations, and patient outcomes.

Perficient, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRFT) (“Perficient”), a leading digital transformation consulting firm serving Global 2000® and other large enterprise customers throughout North America, has partnered with leading healthcare organizations to improve efficiencies, reduce costs, and enhance patient care through the use of data analytics, digital experiences and cloud-based technologies. Today, the company announced it will highlight its healthcare industry expertise and recent successes during the 2018 HIMSS Conference and Exhibition, March 5-9 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.

“The U.S. healthcare industry ranks the highest in per capita healthcare expenditures, and yet our patient outcomes lag behind. Data integration and analytics leveraged through unified, cloud-based platform solutions have the power to improve data accessibility across systems, drive innovative clinical and business operations, and lead to more informed decisions around how to improve care,” said Matt Castle, vice president, Health Sciences, Perficient. “We’ve seen first-hand how undertaking these advancements has changed the game for major healthcare organizations, and we’re excited to explore our digital transformation journey with two healthcare systems during the HIMSS 2018 conference.”

Improving Transitions of Care for High-Risk Patients
In partnership with one of the largest community-based health systems in Florida, Perficient will present “Improving Transitions of Care for High-Risk Patients.” During this presentation, the team will showcase how, through the use of IBM Watson technology, the healthcare system innovated with natural language processing to manage its Hospital Readmissions Risk and address MS-DRG bundled payments.

“Eighty percent of health data is virtually invisible in current health information systems and absent from data analysis, because it is stored as blobs of text in an EMR or in a diagnostic report, and cannot be easily mined to drive meaningful insights and learning,” said Juliet Silver, Perficient’s director of health sciences strategy. “During our session, you will hear how we unlocked this valuable clinical data to inform transitions in care for high-risk patients.”

In addition, the team will discuss its journey through a successful proof-of-technology to reduce COPD readmission risk, specifically, and its plans to deploy a similar approach to address additional patient conditions. The presentation will take place on Thursday, March 8 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. PST in IBM Booth #6243.

Cloud-Based Data Solution Improves Patient Care
Utilizing hybrid cloud technology to access data in real-time, one of the largest non-profit healthcare providers in the United States is making strides to reduce healthcare costs while improving patient care. Perficient’s Director of Healthcare Solutions Jim Kouba will present, “Cloud-Based Data Solution Improves Patient Care,” in which he will explore how Perficient’s client journeyed to the cloud leveraging a consolidated, modern, cloud-based data platform to enable research teams to have a holistic view of the patient's experience.

“We’ve assisted our client on their journey to modernize their legacy data environment, migrating these data systems to a state-of-the-art, cloud-based data platform,” said Tom Lennon, director, Healthcare Analytics, Perficient. “This platform creates a single version of truth and sets them up for future innovations.”

The presentation will also take place on Thursday, March 8, from 12:30 – 12:50 p.m. PST in Booth #9947 in Hall G.
