Business Integration Expert Perficient to Deliver New SOA-Based Services for NASCO

Partnership to provide business solutions to NASCO’s Blues Plan clients

SAINT LOUIS (July 31, 2012)Perficient, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRFT), an information technology consulting firm serving Global 2000 and other large enterprise customers throughout North America, today announced it will develop new SOA-based services in partnership with NASCO, an industry-leading provider of Health Plan solutions that ensure Blue Cross and Blue Shield organizations can serve their members efficiently and cost effectively. Perficient will partner with NASCO to establish an Integrated Services Program, creating a web services development, delivery and governance model. The Integrated Services Program will help NASCO drive new levels of governance, quality, reusability, security and cost effectiveness into future services developed for its customers.

NASCO provides the most efficient single-system claims processing and membership solutions for national, state, large group, small group, individual and government programs, applying more than 25 years of experience and successful service to some of the nation’s largest Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans. For the Integrated Services Program, Perficient will leverage its experience from its healthcare industry practice and SOA Governance Methodology to recommend key SOA standards for NASCO’s service governance lifecycle, and throughout 2012 develop NASCO’s new web services, working with NASCO’s Service Governance and Delivery Team.

“NASCO’s core strength comes from its claims processing and membership solutions, which are unsurpassed in the market for dependability, flexibility, scalability and operational performance,” said David Hastoglis, general manager of Perficient’s National Healthcare Business Group.  “The consistent management of existing services along with prescriptive guidelines for new service development is critical to meeting NASCO’s growth objectives.”

Ultimately, the Integrated Services Program will allow NASCO and its Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans to integrate using industry standards and practices which in turn support improvements in customer satisfaction, lowered costs, improved performance, and delivery of the right solution at the right time.

“NASCO chose to partner with Perficient due to its extensive expertise in the healthcare industry, SOA and services development, and in-depth experience and relationships with the Blues Plans,” said Darin McDonald, vice president and chief information officer, NASCO. “Perficient worked with us to fully understand our needs and the needs of our customers, and their insight into critical business and IT needs ensures both NASCO and the Plans benefit from this solution.”
