Pediatric Primary Care Practice

Setting the Stage for Improved Care With an Azure Data Framework

What if... we could build a strong data foundation to enable better health outcomes for patients?

Our client is a large privately-owned primary care pediatric practice, with more than 200 providers and 34 locations.

Unstructured, Scattered, and Inaccessible Data Was Untapped

Our client's systems lacked the scalability to consume and organize the vast amounts of data generated by the organization. This challenge was further exacerbated when, following an acquisition, the two companies needed to merge their provider data systems into a single platform.

Our client saw the potential of a cloud modernization to better leverage data for improving patient care and health outcomes with predictive analytics and advanced data modeling.

Building a Robust and Scalable Data Platform from Scratch

The organization’s data had never been consolidated into a single shared source, and much of the data was unorganized and unlabeled, rendering it essentially useless.

Using a Microsoft Azure Data Framework, we established an Azure Foundation, stood up the infrastructure, delivered data pipelines, and implemented Databricks for enhanced analytics reporting, which includes allowing data to tell the story of how diseases tend to develop and progress.

Next, our change management experts supported the cloud transition and laid the groundwork for IT and care teams to get the most out of the newly consolidated platform.

Better Care With Predictive Analytics and Data Modeling

As our client continues to grow through acquisitions, it can scale its data infrastructure and decision-making with optimized business intelligence and analytics.

The organization can also utilize Power Apps, a low-code development platform that will connect directly to the new structured data sources. Custom applications can be developed quickly and seamlessly for AI risk assessment calculations and disease classification, which can then be used by providers to inform health decisions.

Equipped with consolidated, accessible, and intelligent data, providers can potentially spot a disease earlier, make informed changes to care plans, and shift to more quality-based care. This data aggregation will play a key role in reimbursement for value-based care payment models.

As our client continues to grow through acquisitions, it can scale its data infrastructure and decision-making with optimized business intelligence and analytics.
